About the Book

The short stories in this book are all works of the imagination—my imagination, to be exact. So, all the brickbats and all the bouquets belong to me, and to nobody else. Since I have led a singularly blameless life, I expect that the bouquets will outstrip the brickbats by a considerable margin; however, the ways of this world are mysterious in the extreme, as the quantum physicists discovered nearly a hundred years ago.

About the Author

Jayanta Sengupta worked in advertising for many years before leaving the corporate world and doing things that he could not do earlier. He entered the world of education and he still loves to teach young people at various institutions.

Being a voracious reader all his life, he started writing about 20 odd years ago. His first book, Wraparound: Delivering a Great Brand Experience (Rupa Publications, 2006) was about designing and delivering great brand experiences.

For Reliance Industries Ltd, he wrote four books on the major plastics families used globally.

He has translated two Bengali classics, both published by Rupa Publications The Mountain of the Moon, a translation of Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay’s Chander Pahar, and Charanik: The Walker, the travel classic written by Mohonlal  Gangopadhyay.

He contributed to the book Birth of Bangladesh: Eyewitness Memories, written by K Pandyan and others, which describes the journey to Dhaka and back undertaken by 4 students at IIM Calcutta in 1971 in the first week after the liberation of Bangladesh.

This book is his first attempt at writing fiction.
